Potential calculation

The planetary potential can be softened over a length that scales either with the disk pressure scale height or with the planetary Hill radius. In addition, the force acting back onto the planet can disregard a fraction of the Roche lobe content. Finally, an initial tapering can be applied to slowly turn the planet mass on.

  • MassTaper

    "Turn-on" the planets slowly
  • ExcludeHill

Discard a fraction of the Roche lobe in the torque calculation
  • RocheSmoothing

The planet’s potential is softened over a length that scales with the Hill radius
  • ThicknessSmoothing

The planet’s potential is softened over a length that scales with the disk thickness
  • IndirectTerm

Specify whether the frame acceleration is applied to the disk
